The Darnytsia pharmaceutical company keeps supporting health care workers and institutions and also assisting the population with medication in crises. Due to the report of the head of the company’s Board of Directors, Dmytro Shymkiv, the pharmaceutical concern alongside the Zahorii Foundation charitable foundation allocated more than UAH 7.1 billion in financial assistance over the past four months of an incredibly difficult 2020. These funds were managed to buy lung ventilation equipment, another equipment for the primary diagnosis of the Covid-19 coronavirus, and medicines for medical institutions and charitable foundations.
In the context of the struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Darnytsia Group and the Zahorii Foundation purchased totally 6 Avea ventilators (Vyaire Medical Inc.) for hospitals in Kyiv. Three of them were immediately directed to Oleksandr’s hospital, Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 4, and Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 9. This equipment is designed to ensure stable lung functioning in patients being in severe and critical conditions. These devices are produced in the USA and entirely meet the high standards of patients care with complications caused by a coronavirus. Besides, Shymkiv draws attention to another important thing: after the end of the pandemic, high-tech medical equipment will remain in these medical institutions and continue being used to save the lives of Ukrainians.
The Darnytsia company is successfully implementing a supporting program with medicines of its own production. The factory provides pharmaceutical products to needed patients in supportive therapy at the Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics, and Gynecology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center. For those patients, specific drugs are allocated for treating chronic systemic diseases of the connective tissue. Moreover, the company responded to the initiative of the Red Cross and donated medicines to flood victims in the Carpathian region and families with adopted children.
As Dmytro Shymkiv reports, Darnytsia, regarded as a responsible business, shares and accepts the challenges that society is currently facing. That is why the Darnytsia Group and Zahorii Foundation provide regular help to the Ukrainian healthcare system. Such an initiative contributes to the preservation of the lives of Ukrainians as well as develops a culture of charity.
